Freelance web developer Remote — Institutional WordPress

Overview

Shaheen Institute for Strategy and Development is seeking a Freelance web developer Remote to build an institutional WordPress website. This is an individual freelance contract (no agencies). Contractors must be based in a GCC country; residence in Oman is an advantage. The contract is a fixed-fee service with periodic updates and technical maintenance through December 2026.

Scope of work

• WordPress build on the Institute's existing domain; logo, brand identity, and all text content supplied by the Institute.
• Developer selects imagery within brand guidelines, subject to Institute approval.
• Institutional pages: home, about, research, people, contact.
• Publications system with categories and automatic listing.
• Integrated project page for the AGYA-funded research cluster with its own publication category.
• Programme section for the Energy Access and Development Program (EADP) on a distinct page template within the same architecture.
• Site architecture prepared for future Arabic (RTL) implementation.
• CMS handover with brief training; periodic content updates and technical maintenance through December 2026.

Published requirements

• Individual contractor only; proposals from agencies/companies will not be considered.
• Must be based in a GCC country (residence in Oman an advantage).
• Delivery of the core site by late September 2026.
• Fixed-fee freelance service contract.

Typical professional tasks (not employer requirements)

Tasks may include creating custom page templates, organising site architecture and taxonomies, implementing the publications system, performing content updates, and preparing a CMS handover with documentation and brief training.
